February 2011
Dear Friends, Loved Ones, and Prayer Partners,
Once again we have the joy and privilege to send our greetings and our report of the blessings of the Lord upon our lives and ministry. As we face the cold of the winter season we are reminded of the faithfulness of the Lord. We know that the winter will pass and that the sunshine will warm the earth to produce life and fruit again. How we need to remember God’s promises of renewal and revival. We can trust Him to send the Sonshine to warm our heart and produce the fruit of His heavenly harvest.
To begin the month of December we were in Prairie Vista BC in Godley, TX where Lonnie Collier
is the faithful pastor for a Sunday. Then we filled the pulpit for the next two Sundays at our home church, Metropolitan BC, Fort Worth, TX (we had no pastor at that time). It was a blessing to be at home for the holidays.
We started January with a New Year’s Revival at Heritage BC in Lufkin, TX. Bro Jim Houseley has been pastor there just over one year and is doing a good job. I preached at Metropolitan BC in PM service on the 16th and AM service on the23rd. Bruce Martin and myself took a group of TTU students to Tabernacle BC at Lubbock, TX for a Modular Course on Manuscript Evidence of the KJV taught by Robert Sargent. It was a great course, I recommend his book “Landmarks of Our English Bible” if you are interested in this subject. We closed the month in a Missions Revival at Emmanuel BC, Pastor Jack Thrift. His son, Jonathan Thrift and “Living Proof” directed the music at Lufkin and at Jacksonville. They are an extremely talented group who are very dedicated to serving the Lord.
We are doing well, Susie is still recuperating from a broken elbow and wrist received in a fall in October. She is going through rehabilitation therapy and the Dr. says she is making good progress. Please pray for complete restoration according to the Lord’s will. Our church just called Brother Jim Turner as pastor. He has been at Victory Baptist Church in Wichita Falls. Please pray for, him, our church, and that church that he leaves. May God’s hand be on all this so that His Name is glorified, His Gospel is magnified and His Church will be edified through it all. We praise the Lord for His leadership and wisdom in all of it.
We have been so blessed in all these things. We cannot dwell on these past blessings however. We look forward to what our Lord has in store in the days to come. We look forward to serving and assisting our pastor. There are no big or little churches, no important or less important pastors in the Lord’s economy. With Jonathan we must say, He certainly is not limited by few or many. As we go, we come under the burden for the people and pastors where we are. Our ministry is one of faith. We trust the Lord to touch hearts and open doors for service where He would have us serve.
Your Servants for Jesus’ Sake, Wayne and Susie Hudson For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (2 Corinthians 4:5)
