August 2010
Dear Friends, Loved Ones and Prayer Partners,
Greetings in the sweet Name of Jesus, He is a wonderful Savior. It seems that we just wrote to you but incredibly it is time to report for August 2010. It seems we are all beset with trials at times. Jesus said we would face them. James said count them “all joy”, but in the middle of it sometimes it is hard to remember to do that. Job reminds that, “God knows the way that I take; when He has tried me, I will come forth as gold.” Paul admonishes us to “Look to Jesus the author and finisher of our faith.” All of this says that the only answer in our trials is in our Great God. There—in Him, our trials become triumphs, our tests will become testimonies, our mess will be His message, and we victims become victorious. Oh what a mighty God we serve! Let us rejoice in Him.
June was a busy month; I preached for Roger Noel at Cleburne BT, Cleburne, TX. Assisted with Texas Theological University’s second graduation at our home church, Metropolitan BC, Fort Worth, TX and at Victory Baptist Institute, Victory BC in Wichita Falls, TX, Pastor Jim Turner. I taught and assisted with the preaching at two weeks of camp at Camp Masterson, TX, Mike Kelly is the camp administrator. In the two weeks with about 300 campers, 25 professions and 4 adults surrendered for service. I preached at Riverview BC, Borger, TX, Pastor Jim Gillmore is in his 43rd year there. I preached at Metropolitan BC for my pastor on the last Sunday of June.
July 4th I preached at Calvary BC, Fort Worth, TX, Pastor Shannon Eaton, God and Country Sunday with Wills family, a wonderful day. I assisted in Ordination for Allan Little at Victory BC, Wichita Falls, TX. We attended East Texas Baptist Camp Meeting in Canton, TX, Evangelist Dennis Erwin. I preached at Metropolitan BC, Fort Worth, TX. I was able to attend some of the Missions Conference at Rogers BC, Garland, TX, Pastor Ron Thomas. We were privileged to be in some great churches, around some of God’s finest men, and experience His presence in many services for which we thank our Lord.
Our schedule for the remainder of the year has many open dates. We leave this with the Lord. So pastor if you feel so led of the Lord; we will do all that we can to accommodate you. There are no big or little churches, no important or less important pastors in the Lord’s economy. With Jonathan we must say, He certainly is not limited by few or many. As we go, we come under the burden for the people and pastors where we are. Our ministry is one of faith. We trust the Lord to touch hearts and open doors for service where He would have us serve.
On a personal note Susie and I want to thank each of you for your prayers for her. She has gone through some deep waters with her health for the last couple of years. However it looks like the Lord has helped. For the last month she has been markedly better. The Dr. seems to have found an answer to a long standing problem for which we can only say Thank you Lord. I ask you to remember Brother Larry Adkisson and Metropolitan Baptist Church in prayer. He just resigned as pastor and the church is praying and seeking the Lord for His will in the matter. A great church, a great pastor, both need to be used of the Lord in a greater way than ever before.
We have had these churches take this ministry on for support recently: Christ Centered Missionary BC, Fort Worth, TX, Pastor Ed Justice, Calvary Bible BC, Hillsboro, TX, Pastor Keith Kelly, Riverview BC, Borger, TX, Pastor Jim Gillmore. We are thankful for these and for each of you who pray and support us in any way. We do need your prayers.
