October 2010 Dear Friends, Loved Ones and Prayer Partners, Greetings in the sweet Name of Jesus, He is a wonderful Savior. It seems that we just wrote to you but incredibly
it is time to report for October, 2010. I am thankful to be able to report each of you. Thank you for praying for us as
we go. We appreciate so much the friends and fellow laborers whom God has put in our lives. It is a privilege to be
allowed to preach the Gospel of Christ. David Livingston said; “If we received a commission from an earthly king
we would count it a great honor. How then can we who are commissioned by a heavenly King call it a sacrifice?”
We started the month of August in a Bible Conference
at Friendship BC at Highlands, AR, Pastor Mike Stanley.
We helped support Bro Mike to start this work which
has become one of the great churches that we know of.
Next we were with Bethany BC in Batesville, MS, Pastor
Tim Ellis. This is another ‘start from scratch’ church
with the vision of Bro. Tim. We had a wonderful time
with this good church. We went to Central BC, Denton,
TX, Pastor Paul Shelton for a good Sunday while Bro
Paul was on vacation. The last two Sundays of August
we filled the pulpit for our home church which is without a pastor at this time.
September fourth we preached the PM service at Bayou Dr. Baptist Church at
Alvin, TX, Pastor Shawn Nichols. This is the church we were at for 38
years as member and pastor. Bro Shawn is doing a good job and the
church is prospering. It was a sweet homecoming for Susie and I. Next
had a Sunday at Wild Peach BC, Brazoria, TX, Pastor John Brewer. This is
another good church and pastor in South Texas. The last two Sundays of
September I ??illed the pulpit at Metropolitan, our home church, pray for
God’s leadership as the Holy Spirit directs the pastoral search.
As we write this I am amazed that it is October 2010. Paul said that
“knowing the time, that now it is high time to wake out of sleep: for now
is our salvation nearer than when we first believed."
Jeremiah said
“the day goes away”,
“the summer is ended
and we are not saved”. It is a time of alarm and urgency. We
live in a fast and fleeting Day of Grace and our opportunity
to win, restore, encourage, challenge and charge is urgent. We
must do what we can while we can. I remember the letters of a
faithful missionary, Bro Ross Fite which always end with “nighttropolitan Youth Choir
cometh”. A reference to Jesus’
statement of urgency in light
of eternity in John 4 which
says we must be busy at the
Master’s work.
We look forward to
serving and assisting you
pastor. There are no big or
little churches, no important
or less important pastors in
the Lord’s economy. With
Jonathan we must say, He
certainly is not limited by few
or many. As we go, we come
under the burden for the
people and pastors where we
are. Our ministry is one of faith. We trust the Lord to touch hearts and
open doors for service where He would have us serve. Your Servants for Jesus’ Sake, Wayne and Susie Hudson For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (2 Corinthians 4:5)
